Step-by-Step Explanation:

1. Look at the box in the upper left corner. You can figure out that this box is "1" by elimination. The box can't be "2," "3" or "4" because those numbers are already in the same 3x3 block. The box can't be "5," "6" or "7" because those numbers are already in the same row. Finally, the box can't be "8" or "9" because those numbers are already in the same column. The only remaining number is "1," which is represented by the green highlighted square.
